ensuring precise fit
Sigma Industries manufactures and supplies high-quality wear strips designed to protect conveyor systems, reduce friction, and extend the service life of critical components. Engineered for use across a wide range of industrial applications, our wear strips help maintain smooth product flow, reduce noise, and minimise wear on conveyor frames, chains, and guides.
With specialist profiling equipment in-house, Sigma Industries can manufacture wear strips to any required profile, ensuring precise fit and optimal performance within new or existing conveyor systems. No matter how large or small the production volume, we support everything from one-off replacements and prototypes through to repeat and high-volume supply. Working closely with customers, we produce wear strips tailored to specific layouts, materials, and operating conditions, delivering durable, low-maintenance solutions that improve conveyor efficiency and reduce unplanned downtime.
Wear Strips for Conveyor Systems
Wear strips prevent the conveyor belt or chains from rubbing directly against the metal conveyor frame, significantly extending the lifespan of the system.

Materials & Performance Benefits
Using low-friction materials like UHMW-PE can reduce the drag forces and drive energy needed to move the belt, lowering operational costs.
-
UHMWPE – Excellent wear resistance and ultra-low friction
-
PE – Durable, impact resistant, and cost effective
-
Other engineered plastics selected to suit application and environment

Common Wear Strip Profiles
Wear strips come in numerous shapes and can often be custom-machined or extruded to specific needs. Common profiles include:
-
Flat strips
-
U-profiles
-
L-profiles
-
C-profiles
-
Custom guide rail and wear profiles
Many profiles are designed to be clipped or bolted into metal carrier profiles, typically made of stainless steel or aluminium, for easy installation onto the conveyor frame.
Built for Reliable Operation
Proactive replacement of wear strips helps ensure seamless operation, which in turn reduces maintenance costs and potential downtime.

Designed to reduce unplanned downtime and improve efficiency

Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE):
This is the most common material due to its high wear resistance and very low coefficient of friction. It helps reduce energy consumption and is often FDA approved for direct contact with food.
Nylon (PA):
Nylon offers superior strength and wear resistance, making it suitable for applications involving heavier loads or in industries like manufacturing and mining. Self-lubricating grades are available for use in high-speed bottling lines.
Nylatron™ / Ertalon™ LFX PA6:
Self-lubricating nylon wear strips are used in food and beverage packaging to handle high speeds and prevent collisions.
Polyurethane (PU):
Known for its excellent chemical resistance and elasticity, polyurethane serves well in environments exposed to harsh chemicals or extreme temperatures.
Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET):
Offers high dimensional stability, wear resistance, and moisture resistance, making it useful in heavy machinery applications.
